Living in Brighton is totally amazing, you get to meet great people, share experiences and are able to make a difference by connecting, making and sharing some more. David Allistone recently met Toby Moore during one of the City Camp monthly meet ups at Hove Kitchen. During our conversation Toby invited David to provide a talk during his first CREATE event.
The Exploring Senses talk went down a storm, lots of people engaged by CommuniToy , Robot Relays, and interest about the value of creative and playful learning, Digital Makers, resource and skills exchange, and ES links with local charities Emmaus and Brighton Youth Centre.
Toby booked a great selection of guest speakers for the event who were truly inspirational. Words from Toby’s;
“Tuesday 19th March saw our very first Create Brighton event. We had an amazing crowd, More than 30 beautiful people with an eclectic mix of backgrounds and passions, from freelancers and business owners, to teachers and charity workers.
Our amazing line up of speakers all delivered inspiring, informative and thought provoking talks. David Allistone from Exploring Senses showed us his simply brilliant Toy Hacking project. Graham Allcott, founder of Think Productive taught us how we can do our work with ninja like reflexes. NixonMcInnes’ Max St John explained the vital importance of participative leadership and how the lives of future generations depend on it. Our final talk from Jon Munn, a self proclaimed superhero shared his story with us of how he came to only own 72 things!
The great buzz that came from Create has really resonated with us and the wonderful feedback I have received since has confirmed with me that this is the right thing to be doing and that we can all benefit from sharing our amazing experiences and ideas.”
Toby is seeking a new selection of speakers for his second CREATE event. Get in touch if you have a story you would like to share: )
