Big thanks to the SprungDigi crew for inviting Exploring Senses to join their epic digital arts journey. We started planning ‘Our Place’ almost a year ago in a warm cosy coffee shop in Brighton, discussing how we could take the Exploring Senses digital cardboard cities showcased during September 2014 (‘Young Inventors Centre’ Brighton Digital Festival 2014 educational commission and Brighton Mini Maker Faire events) to the next level.
Prior to the SprungDigi festival Exploring Senses provided Horsham QE11 School with two test events. The first involved Toy Hacking, 3D scanning, 3D model making, 3D print pens and a 3D printing demonstration. The second was a cardboard city embedded with digital tech sound tech. Both workshops were a huge success with the young people and staff who participated from QE11 and SprungDigi crew. We knew then that ‘Our Place’ during the SprungDigi festival was going to be killer, and it was……..totally exhausting, but possibly one of the most amazing art experiences to date that Exploring Senses has provided. Big thanks to everyone who participated and the SprugDigi crew for including us!!: )
